Best 11 panoramic views in Barcelona

When I am saying Barcelona, I am thinking at its streets, its beautiful squares, its historical buildings and monuments, but Barcelona it’s much more than that.


In this article I want to give you some tips about the best places where you can see the city skyline.



1. Bunkers del Carmel

Located in Carmel neighborhood, you can access the bunkers through Parc del Guinardo.

The bunkers were built for anti-aircraft warfare during the Spanish Civil War, but now they became a viewpoint which offers a 360º city view.



2. Parc Güell

Another great viewpoint called ¨Turó de les tres creus¨ is located in Parc Güell.

3. The Towers of Sagrada Familia

The most iconic symbol of Barcelona, Sagrada Familia, has a fantastic viewpoint in its towers.

When the main tower is completed in 2026, it will measure 170 meters and will be highest point in Barcelona.

4. Arenas de Barcelona

The building situated in Plaça España was transformed into a shopping center a few years ago, initially being a bullring.


A perfect combination of cafes and restaurants, an awesome 360º city view of Plaça España, Avinguda Reina Maria Cristina and MNAC. The terrace can be accessed by an exterior lift for a 4 euro ticket.



5. The National Art Museum of Catalonia (MNAC)

MNAC has two viewpoints

· The first one is located on the roof of the museum with a 360º view with free access for the museum visitors.

· The second one is located in front of the museum with a 180º view with free access for everybody.


6. Montjüic Castle

The castle allow us to see another stunning panoramic view of the city and of the port of Barcelona. You can reach the Montjüic Castle by foot, by car or by a cable car. The ¨teleferic¨ offers a very unique view of the city.

7. Casa Milá (La Pedrera)

Casa Milá is the last house built by Gaudi and it is another symbol of the city. La Padrera has a spectacular and unique terrace from where you can enjoy a view of the Eixample District, Paseig de Gracia and Sagrada Familia.

8. Tibidabo

One of the most visited tourist attractions in Barcelona, Tibidabo is situated on the highest peak of the Sierra de Collserola. Also known as ¨The Magic Mountain¨, this is the place where you can find the oldest amusement park in Spain. The park can be observed at night from anywhere in Barcelona.

The access is free.



9. Mirador de Colón

The Columbus Monument is a 60 m tall structure dedicated to Cristopher Columbus, located at the lower end of La Rambla, near Port Vell.

For a 5 euro fee, you can take the elevator and reach the top of the monument. You will have a view of Bario Gothic, Port Vell and La Rambla that will take your breath away.



10. Jardins de Mossèn Costa i Llobera Europe's biggest gardens specialising in cacti and succulent plants.


Facing the sea on one side and sheltered by Montjuïc on the other side, the gardens are located on a privileged place, just a few minutes from the city centre.



11. Catedral de Barcelona The cathedral is very impressive but the best part is the view from the roof.


In one of the chapel like sections in the left hand side of the church is a an elevator which takes you up to the roof. You can get some great views of Barcelona as well as being able to see more of the impressive structure itself.
